Their demand are as follows:
Legislators’ budget must be opened; all arms of government must join the Treasury Single Account, TSA; abolishment of the joint account between States, and Local Government; the immediate stoppage of the amendment of the Code of Conduct Bureau, CCB, and Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, Act.
Others include: Removal of Immunity Clause for criminal matters, as it affects the President, Vice President, Governors, and Deputy Governors; stoppage of allowances giving for Constituency projects, and budget frauds; introduction of death penalty for political corrupt persons; and the adoption of the uni- cameral system of legislation.
Angry visitors after being incarcerated for hours, were diverted to the Secretary to the Federal Government of the Federation’s, SGF, alternative route. At the time of filing this report, non of the leaders of the National Assembly has been delegated to address the protesters. Although, Security Operatives, mainly the Nigerian Police, have been drafted to the area, in a bid to maintain law and order.
